Startups commercializing an innovation from, or in formal partnership with, one of the participating university research institutions or federal labs are eligible to apply.  

Eligible applicants include:  

• Startups led by faculty, staff, students, or alumni of participating institutions
• Companies who have licensed technology from a participating university
• Startups with faculty, post-doc or graduate students who are actively participating in the commercialization of technology

A competitive, independent selection process will determine which applicants will be invited to participate in the April showcase. Please review the application guidelines and begin preparing your submission as soon as possible if you are interested in applying!

• Innovation Summary: Share a brief 1–3-page summary of your innovation/technology and team, which will be featured on the Southeast Venture Showcase website and distributed to investors prior to the final event.
• Practice Sessions: Participate in one or more pitch practices in front of live investors and coaches to fine-tune your presentation.  
• Video Presentation: Submit a video presentation that will be featured for investors online over the 3-day event.
• VIP Networking Event: Join an exclusive VIP Investor/Founder happy hour during the week of the Showcase. Attendance is optional, but highly recommended.  

The Southeast Venture Showcase offers the opportunity to feature your unique innovation to a diverse audience of investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. Selected presenters will participate in “pitch practices,” receiving expert coaching and feedback from entrepreneurs and investors to fine-tune their pitch and strengthen their value proposition.
