Pike Robotics

Pike Robotics was spun out of UT's Nuclear and Applied Robotics Group and originally funded by Phillips 66 to help with the real need they have for maintaining their product storage and refining facilities. Improving the outdated inspection method for above-ground storage tanks was and continues to be the focus of the project. Failed seals inside storage tanks holding oil and oil-refined products lead to excessive VOC emissions and up to 5% of product lost to evaporation. Regular inspections are required by the EPA to ensure proper functionality.

Skuld LLC

Skuld was founded by 2 metallurgists who did consulting to fund R&D into the AMEC process.  Skuld was mothballed 20 months during COVID. The CEO went to work at Fabrisonic, a 3D printing company, and the value of the process became clear compared to other metal additive processes. Skuld was restarted in December 2021 with the CTO joining fulltime in January 2023 when we installed a small demo plant.

In fall 2024 we installed 8000 tons of melting capacity.  The first problem is the existential crisis caused by global warming.

Mobius AI, Inc.

Mobius AI, Inc. is a software technology company leveraging Artificial Intelligence to provide a B2B SaaS product for transportation companies and municipalities. If people or things need to be moved on any vehicle platform, then our product can be used. In the transportation industry’s current state, fleets are a major source of inefficiency and complexity, especially as they struggle to adapt to newer technological disruptions of electrification and autonomy. Current transportation technologies cannot simultaneously optimize routing, manage disruptions, improve services, and save energy.

Falcomm

Overview

Falcomm is a fabless semiconductor company based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in ultra-efficient integrated power amplifiers (PAs) and front-end modules that significantly reduce power consumption and size in wireless and satellite systems.

Plaid Semiconductors

Plaid Semiconductors is developing the next generation of hardware infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.

Current GPUs are built as mosaics of smaller chips interconnected on substrates, then linked across boards, racks, and data centers via copper and optical fibers. This fragmented approach creates significant inefficiencies:

VibraPower LLC

VibraPower is an energy technology startup developing resonance-tracking vibration energy harvesters that convert wasted mechanical vibrations into continuous electrical power for wireless sensors.

Our mission is to eliminate batteries and wiring in industrial monitoring systems, enabling self-powered, maintenance-free sensors that power the next generation of AI-enabled industrial intelligence.

Clarus Labs

Clarus Labs commercializes a kinetic, light-based testing platform that transforms slow, lab-bound chemical analysis into rapid, on-site quantification.

Our first product delivers oxidation testing for meat and pet food in under 10 minutes, replacing traditional assays that require skilled chemists, expensive instruments, and hours of processing.
